Seattle portion of Ted Thompson's Wiki page
I take exception with whomever posted that Thompson drafted all those notable Seattle draft picks, like Shawn Alexander. He was in charge of Pro Player acquisitions, and wouldn't have been scouting. Holmgren and Wolf were known for disregarding his opinions on draft matters in Green Bay, so I find it hard to believe Holmgren suddenly felt Thompson was his go-to guy in the draft in Seattle.
This was a guy who didn't want Wolf to trade for Favre or Keith Jackson, two very important parts of the 1996 Super Bowl XXXI team.
I'm sorry, but unless someone has something a little better than a puff piece from the Packers official web site - which has been known to tell a whopper or two in it's time, I cannot see how this stuff passes the sniff test and remains in his Wiki bio at Ted Thompson without at least SOME citation or verification. It may as well be an except from Grimm's fairy Tales for all the credibility it carries and whomever wrote it up in the first place doesn't strike me as all that knowledgeable about front office jobs in the NFL. IdioT.SavanT.i4 (talk) 10:59, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

- Nobody objected or responded to my comment about a lack of verification for Thompson having any input in drafting players in Seattle. I left a comment to that end, waited a week, and have now deleted those parts of the Seattle portion stating Thompson had responsibility for drafting certain players. So long as someone can cite a verifiable source - as REQUIRED under the living persons biography Wiki rules - I will not challenge it further, but until such time as it conforms to the rules here, it is gone. Starting Quarterbacks Template
I started the {{PackersQuarterbacks}} template, although the list is not complete. Many historical players were simply listed as "backs" so I'm not sure what position they actually played. Also, "starts" were not tracked so it's harder to find out if they were starting QBs. Please update if you have more information. Larkworb (talk) 20:14, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Also I found a video of A.J Hawks selection in the 2006 nfl draft. [10]Pookeo9
Great! We need to rename a few things (e.g. pro summary into NFL records), merge the personal life section into actual sentences, add references, and consider rewording (I wood do it all myself but I'm very busy this weekend). RC-0722 (talk) 06:01, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
Dont worry RC i could do some of the rewording and add references.--Pookeo9 (talk) 12:38, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

- Hawk will be coming up on some Packers milestones over the next couple years. Foremost is the number of total tackles by a Packers LB. When Nick Barnett left GB for Free Agency, he was spoken of as very close to claiming the GB number of tackles by a LB record. (787 or 788 after his 8th season- depending on which source you believe.) Hawk is currently at 713 or 714 - again depending on which source you believe - after 7 seasons and should surpass Barnett in 2013. The reason I question sourcing is because I downloaded the updated 2012 Green Bay Packers record book and found it to be partially a work of fiction & not to be trusted as a legitimate source of Packers team records. I'm sure most of the entries are probably true but there are enough incorrect records listed to make the entire official Packers PDF copy of the team's records suspect. EXAMPLE: Nick Barnett is listed as holding the single season total tackles record with 194. This is simply not true according to every other source, including NFL.com. The best he ever did with the Packers was 138 in a single season (2005). Be VERY cautious about citing the official Packers record book for stuff. It's not what I consider a reliable source - even if it is an accepted standard for inclusion as a Wikipedia source by most any definition set forth here. Green Bay Packers Seasons
I've expanded the artical on the '1919 Green Bay Packers season'. I'd also like to expand the other Packers seasons articals and get them up to starter quality. Hopefully, this will provide the resources to get the 'History of the Green Bay Packers' article to A or even Featured status. --James Fahringer (talk) 04:17, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Images
I found 73 images of the NFL's greatest team during warmups for the Oct. 2007 Bears game from Ryan Grant's article, and here they are. I added an image to Deanna Favre's article. There are many more images that could be cropped out. Go, Pack, Go! Royalbroil 01:29, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

I currently have a proposal at User_talk:SatyrBot/WikiProject_new_pages#Request_for_WikiProject_Green_Bay_Packers which would have a Bot automatically go through our categories and check for newly created articles that arent tagged with our project banner and place the pages in Wikipedia:WikiProject Green Bay Packers/No banner. Collaboration
Are you interested in doing a collaboration to creating a WP:DYK article on the Green Bay Packerettes? We could create it in a temporary subpage under this WikiProject and move it to mainspace after it's done. Royalbroil 01:04, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
(<-)Hey Royalbroil, what do you think about expanding the article to cover all of the previous cheer squads for the Packers? From all that I have read there is a rich history about all the past cheer squads, and I think it could be a great article over the whole subject. I'm going to hit the library either today or tomorrow and see if I can hunt down a book or two and maybe some other sources. I'll put a couple sources on the talk page that I found about the cheerleaders. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk ? contribs) 17:37, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
(<-)Oh and I am going to hit my school's library tomorrow, and the county library on friday, so hopefully I can find some good info. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk ? contribs) 02:58, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
(<-)I'm not willing to suggest the article for DYK with large gaps like that. Either we should wait until we find sources to flesh out a few sentences about the 1970s Packerettes and the Sideliners, or we move it to mainspace and forget about DYK. I vote we move it to mainspace. Too bad those references are inaccessible! Royalbroil 13:06, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Changes to the WP:1.0 assessment scheme
As you may have heard, we at the Wikipedia 1.0 Editorial Team recently made some changes to the assessment scale, including the addition of a new level. The new description is available at WP:ASSESS.
- The new C-Class represents articles that are beyond the basic Start-Class, but which need additional references or cleanup to meet the standards for B-Class.
- The criteria for B-Class have been tightened up with the addition of a rubric, and are now more in line with the stricter standards already used at some projects.
- A-Class article reviews will now need more than one person, as described here.
Each WikiProject should already have a new C-Class category at Category:C-Class_articles. If your project elects not to use the new level, you can simply delete your WikiProject's C-Class category and clarify any amendments on your project's assessment/discussion pages. The bot is already finding and listing C-Class articles.
Please leave a message with us if you have any queries regarding the introduction of the revised scheme. This scheme should allow the team to start producing offline selections for your project and the wider community within the next year. Thanks for using the Wikipedia 1.0 scheme! - I have a friend who attends training camps in Green Bay and takes a TON of photos while he's there. He posts them on his account at photobucket and since he owns them, I'm sure any of the authors for ANY of the Green Bay Packers articles on players or the team could contact him and request permission to use any of the photos. He's quite nice that way. He sent me a complete set last year. For permission to use his Packers photos here, contact >> GIMPYBUTT on the scout.com PackerReport forum.<< (Click for linky.) Wikipedia 0.7 articles have been selected for Green Bay Packers
Wikipedia 0.7 is a collection of English Wikipedia articles due to be released on DVD, and available for free download, later this year. The Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team has made an automated selection of articles for Version 0.7.
We would like to ask you to review the articles selected from this project. These were chosen from the articles with this project's talk page tag, based on the rated importance and quality. If there are any specific articles that should be removed, please let us know at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.7. You can also nominate additional articles for release, following the procedure at Wikipedia:Release Version Nominations.
A list of selected articles with cleanup tags, sorted by project, is available. The list is automatically updated each hour when it is loaded. Please try to fix any urgent problems in the selected articles. A team of copyeditors has agreed to help with copyediting requests, although you should try to fix simple issues on your own if possible.
We would also appreciate your help in identifying the version of each article that you think we should use, to help avoid vandalism or POV issues. These versions can be recorded at this project's subpage of User:SelectionBot/0.7. We are planning to release the selection for the holiday season, so we ask you to select the revisions before October 20. At that time, we will use an automatic process to identify which version of each article to release, if no version has been manually selected. Thanks! Coordinators' working group
Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators.
All designated project coordinators are invited to join this working group. If your project hasn't formally designated any editors as coordinators, but you are someone who regularly deals with coordination tasks in the project, please feel free to join as well. -- Delievered by §hepBot (Disable) on behalf of the WikiProject coordinators' working group at 05:33, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
Article alerts
This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.
If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none
parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

I just noticed in passing the existence two articles, Jimmy Lawrence (American football) and Jim Lawrence (American football), which might be about the same Packers player; there's a large, but not quite exact, overlap in biographical details. Green Bay Packers articles have been selected for the Wikipedia 0.8 release
Version 0.8 is a collection of Wikipedia articles selected by the Wikipedia 1.0 team for offline release on USB key, DVD and mobile phone. Articles were selected based on their assessed importance and quality, then article versions (revisionIDs) were chosen for trustworthiness (freedom from vandalism) using an adaptation of the WikiTrust algorithm.
We would like to ask you to review the Green Bay Packers articles and revisionIDs we have chosen. Selected articles are marked with a diamond symbol (?) to the right of each article, and this symbol links to the selected version of each article. If you believe we have included or excluded articles inappropriately, please contact us at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8 with the details. You may wish to look at your WikiProject's articles with cleanup tags and try to improve any that need work; if you do, please give us the new revisionID at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8. We would like to complete this consultation period by midnight UTC on Monday, October 11th.
We have greatly streamlined the process since the Version 0.7 release, so we aim to have the collection ready for distribution by the end of October, 2010. As a result, we are planning to distribute the collection much more widely, while continuing to work with groups such as One Laptop per Child and Wikipedia for Schools to extend the reach of Wikipedia worldwide. Please help us, with your WikiProject's feedback!

SS Mariposa sails from LA to Honolulu on Dec 25, 1932 with several Green Bay Packer football players
Hello,
My grandfather, Roger Grove, a professional football player for the Green Bay Packers, sailed on the Mariposa on Dec 25, 1932 for an exhibition game in Hawaii. It was common practice in those days to play exhibition games in addition to the regular football schedule. I have a partial passenger list which was retrieved from Ancestry.com. On this list are several Green Bay Packer players: Henry "Hank" Bruder, Lavern "Lavvie" Dilweg, Wuert Englemann, Milton "Milt" Gantenbein, Roger Grove, Arnold "Arnie" Herber, William "Clarke" Hinkle, Earl "Curly" Lambeau, John "Johnny Blood" McNally, August "Mike" Michalske.

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal
Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
WikiProject X is live!
Hello everyone!
You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.

Proposed Deletion of Packers Pro Shop
The article Packers Pro Shop has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Collaboration
Welcome @Lizard the Wizard, Mendeleev, and Yankees10! I am really glad you are here. My main idea for this group is to just foster collaboration and create great articles. Hopefully we can all help each other out!
I have a few projects/ideas and wanted to see if anyone is interested:
- Bring List of Green Bay Packers stadiums to FL-class. I created this and think its close, just needs some more sources in the lede and a thorough copyedit/review.
- Bring Clay Matthews III to GA-class. I just expanded the lede on this article. It just needs better sources, a little expansion and some clean-up.
- Expand George Whitney Calhoun to DYK and start-class. Such a small stub for an important character in Packers history; could easily be expanded for DYK.
Please let me know if you are interested in collaborating on any of these projects. I am also interested if you guys have any projects you would like to collaborate on. Thanks! « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 01:41, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

Haha Clinton-Dix
What's up guys! I am trying to improve the article Haha Clinton-Dix. I'm not trying to get it to GA just yet as I will worry about that once it reaches B class but I am focusing on improving the article. I would love to have this my first GA but I won't worry about that now so please don't tell me anything about that part. About the article, I believe there are issues with the article. When I read Kyler Fackrell, Kyle Murphy, and Dean Lowry, I figured out that's one of the ways I can improve the article. I added the citation tag because I believe it needs some references as well. Don't get me wrong there are some but I think there should be a little more. As I am trying to add a little quotes in the article and try to improve it the way Church did the 3 articles I mentioned, could one of you guys let me know what to put in the article, like how HHCD, ESPN, or Packers fans reacted here so I can copy what you told me what I can add to be put in the article or more information about what I can add about his college career. I think the college part needs a little more info in my opinion. Thanks! --ThunderFan109 (Thunder Up!) 03:47, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
I added that he was picked by Packer fans. The Citation part is kinda hard though. Could you please look at that part I mentioned about Packer fans picking him. I did mentioned he was excited to be a Packer. That citation part you mentioned seems a little hard though I hate to say. --ThunderFan109 (Thunder Up!) 02:50, 29 July 2016 (UTC)

Per policy, any changes by a banned person should be reverted but he does seem to have done some alright stuff to the article. When we have the time can we give the article a once-over and a little bit of polish just to make sure everything seems to be okay? Thanks, --Church Talk 22:17, 5 August 2016 (UTC)
Billy Grimes
If anyone is interested in a player who's been kinda forgotten by time, Billy Grimes seems like a good article to spend a few hours building up to start-class. Two-time Pro Bowler in 3 seasons with the Pack. Had a brilliant season in 1950. Here's his PFR profile. Lizard (talk) 15:27, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
Canadeo
I think I'll start on Tony Canadeo next week and see how far I can get it. Running backs have kind of become my forte, and I've seen a good bit on him as I work on Steve Van Buren, what with their careers overlapping. Hopefully we'd be able to get him to GA and knock one more out for that retired numbers Good Topic. Also it's really odd that Jim Taylor's number is retired by the Saints but not the Packers. I've started on Canadeo. Split his career into pre-war and post-war. Gonna go from there. Lizard (talk) 16:42, 23 July 2016 (UTC)
Reggie White
I'm taking a break from the Pack for a while to focus on another project I've been meaning to get to, but I'm planning Reggie White as my next Packers project. Looks like someone did a fine job with his college career, but his pro career is obviously lacking. I've never done a defensive player though, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to spin up something that befits a legend of this magnitude. Lizard (talk) 04:06, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
Hutson
Looks like Don Hutson is gonna be GA reviewed soon. Hopefully it's good enough. If so it'll be 2 down and 4 to go for the retired numbers, plus the retired numbers list article. Lizard (talk) 15:47, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
Anyone know French?
Bart Starr is a GA on the French Wikipedia. And the refs are all in English, so maybe the main contributor can assist in our English version. Lol does pinging work with interlanguage links? Lizard (talk) 01:36, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
Nomination of Geronimo Allison for Deletion
Hey gang, just wanted to let you all know that I have nominated Geronimo Allison for deletion. Seems like a pretty clear cut case of failing WP:NGRIDIRON to me but I figured I would inform you all if you wish to weigh in.--Church Talk 19:17, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
It's finally time!
Evening Gents, Just wanted to wish you all a happy NFL season. I for one will spend tomorrow kicked up in my chair with a cold beer watching the Pack handle Jacksonville. I apologize for the drop off in my productivity here lately. The 80 hour weeks aren't fun. Heres hoping to a fun season and more improvement to the Packers articles!--Church Talk 00:01, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
Me Being MIA
Sorry everyone for suddenly going MIA. Not sure how much time I will have to edit, but I am still here and will answer any messages sent my way or here at the project. Hope all is well! « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 23:04, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
