Origins

The book originated from a realization that Greene had in 2007. In writing and researching his first four books (including The 48 Laws of Power), Greene concluded that all the people he studied and wrote about--no matter their field, culture, or moment in history--followed the same pathway to power. After finishing his fourth book, The 50th Law, Greene began to examine this concept in depth and decided that it would be the focus of his next book.
